Badminton Ireland and the Branches

One of the things that seems to confuse a lot of people is the difference between the BI and the branches. Lots of players aren’t aware of the different roles that they play or the different services they offer.

Badminton Ireland is made up of the 4 branches; Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster.

Who runs the competitions?

All Branches run provincial competitions, some of which are designated ranking tournaments and feed into our National Ranking Points Table. Within the branches, Counties and District Leagues are run at a local level - for example, Meath County Badminton Association runs the Meath League. National competitions are run by Badminton Ireland and entry forms are on the website.
