Irish U17 No.1 Ruaraidh Sim from Lisburn won a bronze medal in boys singles at this weekend at the UK Schools Games held in Cardiff. Ruaraidh who was representing Northern Ireland in the event lost a tightly fought semi-final to eventual gold medal winner Aaron Chen of England.

This is a creditable performance by Ruaraidh in the the first tournament of the new season. He beat Chen on their previous meeting and at this level there is little to choose from between several of the top boys within the UK.
