Update 12th August; Scott defeated in three set thriller

Tremendous 3 set thriller today from Irish No 1 Scott Evans who played in the last 32 of the World Championships against World No 10. Yan Kit Chan from Hong Kong.  Scott lost the 1^st set 21-16 but took the 2^nd 21-19.  The final set saw Scott lose 21-12, but overall a superb performance.  Well done Scott. 

10th August; Day 1 in Hyderabad for the Irish players

Chloe Magee was beaten  her 1^st round opening match to Ali Goto of Japan 21-13 21-9.  Chloe completed well in the 1^st set but the drift in the hall hampered her performance in the 2^nd..

Scott Evans beat his Russian opponent Vladimir Malkov 21-9  22-20 in just 29 minutes in his 1^st round.  He now faces the winner of the No 10 seed Yan Kit Chan or Keveh Mehrabi."

On  August 5^th 2009 Chloe Magee, Scott Evans and High Performance Coach Jim Laugesen will leave Copenhagen to travel to India to take part in the prestigious World Championships.

Chloe will face Ali Goto from Japan in her 1^st round whilst Scott meets Vladimir Malkov from Russia in his.

Both players are training hard in the run up to this event and we wish them every success.
