Ulster Badminton Primary Schools Finals 2010

The finals of the Ulster Badminton Primary Schools programme took place on Friday 21st May 2010 at the National Badminton Centre in Lisburn. 48 players attended the event representing 12 Primary Schools from across the province.


Throughout the season Regional events have taken place across Ulster with over 250 players being involved and all Regional winners and runners up attended the finals competition.

 

In both the Boys and Girls competitions teams where placed in two groups where they competed in singles and doubles matches to determine who would win each group. The group winners then progressed to a final to decide the overall winner of the competition.

 

The results are listed below:

 

Boys Final:

 

Ballyholme Primary , Bangor                      v          Bready Jubilee Primary, Strabane

            1st Singles        Jon McCready           11-2     Mervyn Magee

            2nd Singles      Matthew Agnew        3-11     Kyle Magee

 

            Doubles          Jon / Matthew            4-11     Mervyn / Kyle

 

            Bready Jubilee win 2-1.

 

Girls Final:

 

St Comgalls Primary, Bangor                      v          Artigarvan Primary, Strabane

            1st Singles        Caoimhe Morrison    2-11     Hannah Wylie

            2nd Singles      Kathryn Simpson      11-5     Jill McCarter

 

            Doubles          Caoimhe / Kathryn   11-5     Hannah / Jill

 

            St Comgalls win 2-1

 

Congratulations to all those who attended the finals day and for making it an extremely competitive event and special congratulations to Bready and St Comgalls for winning their events.

 

A massive thank you goes to all the parents and teachers for their help in making the day run so successfully.
