The Roscommon Juvenile Badminton League held its third and final blitz of this season last Sunday in Loughglynn Community Centre.

Over 40 players from clubs throughout the county competed in various competitions on these days. These clubs being: Ballinaheglish, Ballaghaderreen, Boyle, Four Roads, Loughglynn & Strokestown. Some fantastic games of badminton were played across the various levels. From the start to the finals, from beginners to advanced groups, every match was keenly fought for. The scoring in most matches was really close. The finals provided some fantastic displays throughout, culminating in a fiercely fought, boys advanced final.

Congratulations to the winners and all the participants for the great games on the day. Well done also to all the coaches for having all the players so well prepared for the games. Thank you to all the parents for their support and help on the day. Also, thank you to Loughglynn BC for the use of their hall and facilities.

The RJBL would like to thank all the players, parents, clubs, Roscommon Badminton Association, Badminton Ireland and The Roscommon Sports Partnership for their loyal support of this new sporting venture in Co. Roscommon. Our targets of developing the game and getting as many children playing and enjoying badminton have been achieved.

We are looking forward to the start of the new season later in the year.

Please keep in touch with your clubs for details of summer camps, training days etc which will be coming up over the next few months.
