Clubs

 

·          Each club should have received notification about the Badminton Ireland AGM on Saturday the 23rd of May in Baldoyle Badminton Centre at 11am.

In the event that your club is unable to attend the AGM and you would like your clubs vote to be represented I am available to act on your behalf (proxy vote) should you wish.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.

·          I hope you and your club had a successful season and I wish you a happy summer and look forward to seeing you back on September.  Should you or your club need ANY assistance from me during the summer months with a view to the new season, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Events

 

·          3^rd March – Leinster U14 Schools Finals, Baldoyle.

·          4^th, 11^th, 18^th, 25^th March – Ladies Morning Club, Baldoyle.

·          5^th March – Westmeath Schools Blitz in Moate Community Centre, Moate, Co. Westmeath. 120 students from 6 schools took part.

·          10^th March – Leinster U16 Schools Finals, Baldoyle.

·          28^th March – All Ireland Schools Finals, Gormanston.

 

·          1^st, 8^th, 15^th, 22^nd April – Ladies Morning Club, Baldoyle.

·          1^st April – 4^th Level league finals, Baldoyle.

·          8^th April – Parent and Child taster evening, Collinstown Park Sports Complex, Clondalkin.

·          23^rd April – Fingal LSP Active Energise Sports Day, Sportslink, Dublin.

·          25^th April – Badminton Ireland Awards Night.

·          28^th April – Louth Schools Badminton Blitz. 44 Students took part on the day.

·          29^th April – Ladies Morning Club Blitz, Baldoyle. 34 ladies from a number of different clubs took part.

Badminton Ireland Programmes

 

·          A New Programme - The Badminton Basics programme is specifically designed to enable Teachers and Transition Year Students to deliver basic badminton skills and to organise structured games and competition for 1^st and 2^nd Year Students following completion of the Badminton Basics Coaching Course. 

 

As this is a pilot programme, we are delighted to be in a position to offer the Badminton Basics Programme to a limited number of schools during this school term at a cost of only €100.  Each development officer will pilot the programme in 8 schools during the 2008/09 academic year.

 

The following schools have signed up for this module this year; Santa Sabina, Sutton, Dublin 1; Del la Salle, Dundalk, Co. Louth; Dundalk Grammer, Dundalk, Co. Louth; Abbey Community School, Wicklow Town, Co. Wicklow.

 

·          Transition Year Module, the following schools have signed up for this module this year; Mount Carmel Secondary School, Dublin 1, St. Vincents, Dundalk, Ardscoil Rís, Dublin 9

 

·          First Badminton, the following schools have signed up for this module this year; Scoil Muire National School, Lucan

 

·          Buntús Badminton, the following schools have completed Buntús Badminton teacher training workshops; Dunleer Girls National School, Dunleer Boys National School, St. Paul’s National School, Ratoath Junior National School, Ratoath Senior National School, Rathbeggan National School, St. Seachnalls Nationsl School, Scoil Cholmcille, Cullmullen National School, O’Growney National School, Athboy, Co. Meath, Killyon National School, St. Patricks National School, Castleknock.
