Niall McVeigh successfully defended his English 4 Nations Disability Championships Men’s singles title at the weekend in Manchester. After coming through his group matches Niall had a three set battle with England’s Krysten Coombs in the semi finals and after losing a tight first set 20/21 recovered convincingly to win the next two sets 21/5 21/12.

In the final Niall played England’s Oliver Clarke edging out a closely contested first set 22/20, but took control in the second set to win comfortably 21/12 and retain the English Four Nations Men’s singles title.

Niall is funded through the Sport Northern Ireland Athlete Support Programme.
