Badminton Ireland Insurance Policies FAQ

The main policies which under which you are insured are public liability policies and personal accident policies. The policies cover Badminton Ireland, the branches, county associations, leagues and affiliated clubs. Once the BI office gets information from clubs on affiliations, we send out insurance certs to the clubs.

 Badminton Ireland Insurance Policy FAQ's

The Public liability policies cover meetings, badminton activities, and social/fundraising events up to a maximum of 500 people.

The personal accident policy covers injury while training or playing badminton including travelling to and from matches all under the control of  BI and its affiliated clubs. The cover includes:

  • The grounds or premises where the insured has arranged a fixture or training for the purpose of taking part in a badminton event.
  • Travelling (other than by air) to or from fixtures or training sessions as a member of an organised party under the direction of the insured.
  • Engaging in any social activity organised by the insured.

There is a separate travel policy in place for teams travelling by air.
