Badminton Ireland are delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Stuer Lauridsen as Technical Director
Thomas will be responsible along with National High Performance Coach Jim Laugesen for the development of Irish high performance badminton and will become a member of the High Performance Panel. Thomas was latterly a coach with Team Denmark with specific responsibility for men's singles including top players Peter Gade and Kenneth Jonassen. As a badminton player Thomas enjoyed considerable success at the very highest world level including as a 21 year old winning a bronze medal in men's singles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Gordon Sim of Badminton Ireland's High Performance Panel said " We are a very pleased to have secured the services of Thomas as our Technical Director, within the badminton world he has a tremendous reputation as a thinking individual and he will provide invaluable direction in our efforts to develop all our players. Ireland now have a set up moving forward that provides our young players with the best possible foundation for future success" |
